Laughing at death
Laughing doesn’t mean I’m not scared. It just means I’m not letting the fear run the show. When I laugh at death, I shrink it. I take away a little bit of its power. I look it in the eye and say, “Yeah, I see you. But I’m not giving you my peace today.”
Some days, the laughter comes easy. Other days, I fake it. But either way, I try.
Because if death is inevitable, then maybe how I face it is the only choice I really have.
